overview

This is a case story about creating and delivering a webinar for Reedsy, a London-based publisher. I was hired to help the company promote writing tips and hacks to their primary audience of book authors. Here's how we did it.

My Role:

marketing copy

Before the webinar launched, I also helped the team market the webinar on their social media outlets. We created targeted copy that encouraged readers to register for the event and subscribe to the Reedsy YouTube channel:

Then I wrote and delivered a webinar on a
subject our readers wanted to learn more about:
Writing Exciting and Readable Non-Fiction.

media strategy

  • Social media. We launched ads for this webinar on Facebook, a platform the majority of Reedsy subscribers use on a regular basis (according to research from a Reedsy representative.) Even though we didn’t bring on many registrants by driving users to the registration page via Facebook, users relied on the Facebook event page to stay updated about changes to the event leading up to the webinar launch date.
  • Paid promotion. Our team invested in paid ad promotion in collaboration with book publishers. This strategy alone brought on 18 percent of our registrants.

Webinar Results & KPIs

The results of our webinar exceeded expectations!

  • The event attracted 980 registrants.
  • 1100 people attended the webinar in real time.
  • 2,260 people viewed the webinar post-event.
  • Reedsy subsequently received nearly 300 new subscribers.
